As part of political reconciliation in Balochistan, 434 suspected militants surrendered to Balochistan government and Frontier Corps authorities on Friday evening.
According to official sources, the militants of several banned organizations including Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Republican Army (BRA) surrendered and handed over their weapons to chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri.
The suspected militants were involved in carrying out attacks on security forces and government installations in Dera Bugti, Quetta, Sui and other regions of Balochistan.
The surrender ceremony was attended by high level civil and military authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said the anti-state elements sitting abroad were misleading the people of Balochistan.
The writ of the government will be ensured at any cost and no one will be allowed to play in the hands of RAW, he added.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz said those militants who lay down their arms would be welcomed.
The surrendered militant commanders Dur Khan Baloch and Sher Mohammad said they will no longer play in the hands of enemies.
Balochistan government spokesman Anwarul Haq Karar said more militants would lay down their arms in coming days.
