Balochistan High Court (BHC) has directed the provincial education department to conduct the drug tests of all male and female students studying in all educational institutions of the province.
A divisional bench on Friday passed the order of conducting the drug tests of all the students. The bench comprised Justice Jamal Mandhokail and Justice Nazeer Ahmed Lango.
The complain was registered by a citizen over increasing number of student addicts in educational institutions of Balochistan.
The court directed the concerned departments to conduct the tests phase wise and if any student is found guilty, strict actions should be taken against him/her.
The bench called it shameful that students in educational institutions were overwhelmingly addicted to drugs.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail said immediate actions were needed to protect the future of nation.
The court also directed the anti-narcotics force and Police to take actions against the drug smugglers in order to control the menace.
