Turbat: University of Turbat (UOT) has allegedly appointed a female Assistant Professor, despite the fact that she did not have the required experience and did not meet the Higher Education Commission (HEC) conditions for appointment of faculty.
Recently, University of Turbat conducted interviews for the position of Assistant professor where a female candidate was appointed as Assistant Professor.
It is accused that she has two 3rd divisions in her career and does not have required experience to be eligible for the position.
The other rejected candidates accused that her appointment became possible due to political influence. However, they did not provide any solid proof and hesitated to point out any political person or party.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the accusations are based on reality or not, as the University administration and accused candidate have not expressed their positions with regard to this issue.
According to HEC criteria the candidate must have a Master or M.Phil degree in relevant field with four years of teaching/research experience to be eligible for the position of Assistant Professor. However, the PhD degree holders can apply without experience.
