Remote-controlled bomb blast kills 2 Zikris in Panjgur

At least two Zikris were killed and two injured when their vehicle was attacked with a remote-controlled bomb in Kamp Tal area of Panjgur, Balochistan.

According to the sources the vehicle was on its way to Koh-e-Murad when it came under attack. Koh-e-Murad is the holy place for the Zikris who visit there on especial occasions to perform their religious rituals.

The sources said bomb blast destroyed the vehicle, killing Darzi Nakam S/O Khuda Baksh and Khan Muhammad S/O Shadain. Two people were also injured in the attack.

Religious extremism is making deep roots in Balochistan and the situation is getting dangerous for the Zikri community as they are the soft target of the extremists.

In January 2015, armed men opened fire in a Zikr Khana (prayer place for Zikris) in Teerteej area of Awaran, killing six and leaving seven others wounded.

Many of the religious groups have also done wall chalking against the Zikris and warned them to accept Islam otherwise they would be killed.
