Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) staged a token hunger strike in front of press club Quetta.
The hunger strike aimed to show solidarity with the Baloch students of Quaid i Azam University Islamabad who are on strike for more than a month for the restoration of expelled Baloch students.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Press Club Quetta, Chairman Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) Rasheed Karim Baloch said the sole purpose of the token hunger strike was to stand by the striking Baloch students of Quaid i Azam University.
He said previously his organization staged agitations in support of Baloch students in many regions including Quetta, Karachi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Uthal and Kuzdar.
He reiterated the commitment to expand the level of agitation if the legal demands of Baloch students were not fulfilled by the university administration.
‘The Baloch students move to other parts of the country for the only sake of getting better education, but they are being denied the very basic right to education and it would not be wrong if I call it a conspiracy to close the doors of education for Baloch students in Punjab, as Baloch students have faced such discriminatory actions in past in Islamabad, Lahore and Multan,’ continued Rasheed Karim Baloch.
He urged the concerned authorities to take immediate and fruitful steps for the restoration of expelled Baloch students in QAU. He also expressed deep concerns over the critical condition of hunger strikers, Saddam Baloch and Noroz Baloch.
Rasheed Kareem Baloch thanked the students, lawyers, Political and social activists who visited the token hunger strike camp and showed solidarity.
