Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) has strongly condemned Islami Jamiat Tulba’s brutal attack on Baloch and Pashtun students in University of Punjab, Lahore.
BSAC spokesperson said such barbarism were meant to close the doors of education for Baloch and Pashtun students and silence of university administration and Punjab government raises doubtful questions over maintaining the writ in university.
He said student organizations were banned in University, but Jamiat functions as an organization in the university and the administration seems helpless in taking action against the religious organization.
“It is not the first time that Jamiat attacked the students, such incidents have also been reported previously, but no action against them was taken and it seems like a conspiracy against the Baloch and Pashtun students.” BSAC spokesperson said.
He said the university administration was equally responsible for the incident as the religious organization had tried to impose its ideology over other students and many times got violent against the ethnic groups, but the concerned authorities gave them favor and hesitated to take strict actions against them.
Baloch Students Action Committee urged Punjab and federal governments to take notice of the matter and punish the culprits immediately.
