At least 129 people, including Balochistan Awami Party leader Siraj Raisani, were killed and over 200 were injured in a suicide attack in Mastung on Friday.

Following the blast, the injured were brought to Civil Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical Centre and CMH Quetta. Those who were slightly injured were discharged after giving first-aid. However, there are still 110 patients in Civil Hospital Quetta. And the thing that they need the most right now is food.

Talking to media from Civil Hospital Quetta, Dr Talha Rehman, a Karachi-based doctor, said the hospital has enough medical supplies to treat. “We need food for the patients and their attendants,” said Rehman.

With every patient, on average there are two to three attendants and they are expected to remain at the hospital for treatment for around seven days, he said. Dr Rehman said, “So we need food for around 250 people for a week.”
