It is very sad to hear the news of Sajid Hussain’s death in a free democratic country like Sweden. Sajid Hussain was a Baloch journalist and the editor in chief of Balochistan Times. The shocking news of his disappearance came on March 2nd in Sweden city of Uppsala.
We all were hoping for his safe recovery as we believed that it would be hard for someone to kill and dump a journalist in such a peaceful country where humanity matters. Dishearteningly, his dead body was found in a river in Uppsala, Sweden.
It is a shock for all of us, we are still out of our mind and cannot believe that how could this happen. The Baloch like Sajid Hussain have travelled thousands of miles to live a free and peaceful life, but he never knew that the Baloch have no where to live peacefully.
Before it was thought that such countries are safe places for Baloch living in exile, but this incident has heated a new wave of fear among the Baloch community in exile.
Sajid Hussain was not politically active rather he spent most of his time reading books and he was also working on Balochi language and literature.
It takes years to make one Sajid Hussain and we got deprived of him all of a sudden. We write and post for him for few days, remember him for some times and again silence shadows us. But the gap left empty by Sajid Hussain can never be filled and in such circumstances we may not be able to give birth to another Sajid.
The International human right organizations must come forward and provide justice to Sajid Hussain by bringing his murderers before the courts. I owe my deep condolences with Sajid’s family. He had no peace in life now his soul may rest in peace.
