Noor Khan Bezanjo was a prominent and popular singer, writer and a poet, who was born on 9th of January, 1970, in Pasni, Balochistan, in the house of Ghulam Sarwar Bezanjo. He completed his matriculation from Pasni and for further education he went to Karachi where he completed his high school. After his high school from Karachi, he moved to Quetta for higher education where he accomplished his Master’s Degree in Master of Arts in History from University of Balochistan, Quetta (Shaal). When he was a student in Quetta, he also joined Baloch Students Organization (BSO).
However, Noor Khan Bezanjo was interested in singing from his childhood. When he was reading in school, he began to learn music. He learnt the fundamentals of music from his teacher Ustad Ejaz Ali Baloch in Pasni. After that, when he moved to Karachi for his higher education, he started learning music under the supervision of Ustad Mohammad Umar. During this, he got opportunity for learning music from Ustad Abdul Sattar Baloch too.
In 1988, he started singing in different Balochi musical programs. During a musical ceremony, he met with a famous singer Ustad Arif Baloch, who had a lovely voice like him. On the other hand, they moved on to sing duet songs and released many albums together. They also attended different musical programs together. Their friendship was fabulous and grown well.
Noor Khan Bezanjo was very famous in Balochistan, as well as in Sindh, Iran, Oman, Bahrain and United Arab Emirate. Both of them, Noor Khan and Arif Baloch, were invited in different countries for musical programs.
He loved some of the great singers and they were his favorite. They include, Mureed Buledai, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and many others. His best poet was Mubarak Qazi. Noor Khan Bezanjo, Arif Baloch and Rasool Bakhsh were very close friends. Noor Khan Bezanjo recorded and released only 10 albums, which were Umeet, Qandeel ha rok kan, Zaheerani Raazan and others.
Before his death, Noor Khan and Arif Baloch were attending a musical program in Mand, Balochistan, till the dawn of the next day. In the afternoon of August 6, 2003, he passed away in Airf Baloch’s guest house in Koshkalat Turbat, Balochistan. His sudden death was very shocking for everyone. Till today, no one can imagine that he is no more with us for more than 15 years. So, he has left behind his widow with two daughters and one son. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
