There have been traditions in Balochistan like the one mentioned above, but, the given traditions do not exist anymore. Even, if we look at the Baloch history, there are often stories of women in men’s zodiac. It all has been possible due to brave daughters of Balochistan. One such daughter is Karima Baloch, the ‘Lumma-e-Watan’.
Banuk Karima is among the brave daughters of present day Balochistan who fought with Balochi traditions. However, she sacrificed her life on her way to glory. She will ever live in the golden pages of Baloch history for her tireless efforts for the Baloch cause. Not only in Balochistan, but Banuk Karima gained enormous name in the world for she always stood for the voiceless communities of the world. She was the only leader in this era to have fought all her life for Baloch people.
Besides this, one of her biggest achievements was to cut off the chains of Baloch women from being tacit to atrocities on them. She inspired them to fight oppressions. She was, on the other hand, the leader of Baloch students. Leaders like her are born once in centuries. Although Banuk Karima no longer lives today, but her vision exists in every Baloch.
To a great misfortune, Baloch nation has lost the services of a visionary leader today. When she immigrated to Canada, she had her voice loud for the Baloch and other oppressed nations. All her life, she breathed for the people who have been suffering from brutalities.
To her luck, she came back to her soil – her motherland for whom she fought all her life – and has slept in the lap of her land. She left Canada forever and turned back to her paradise. Despite all the sorry state for the nation, Karima’s ideology will ever live in Balochistan.
