Web Desk: An M.Phil scholar, Muslim Allah Bakhsh (Gazzain Baloch), reportedly went missing from his room in A-1 city, Quetta. Three other Baloch students went missing from Karachi, namely Waheed Baloch ( FSc student), Irfan Rasheed Baloch ( Student of BioChemistry in Federal Urdu University) and Qambar Baloch ( Student of BS Agriculture in Karachi University ).
Gazzain Belongs to Kech district of Makuran division who completed his M.Phil in January 2021 from University of the Punjab, Lahore in Public Administration department. He was preparing for the jobs, including the PCS, CSS and the other commission and departmental jobs. He had also qualified in the written part of the lectureship in the University of Balochistan, Quetta and was preparing for the interview.
In the social media, his last post went viral where he posted in Facebook that he had successfully defended his M.Phil thesis. “You may call me a scholar now,” he had mentioned later. “Where is our scholar?” demands a Baloch in the social media sharing with a quote his (Gazzain) last post. According to some sources, Gazzain was a CSS aspirant who had come in Quetta to enhance his preparation. He was preparing the whole day in the library in Quetta.
Gazzain Baloch has also remained in the Baloch Students Council, Lahore during his years of study in the PU. In a statement, a central spokesperson for BSC Lahore condemned the “illegal detention” of the Baloch scholar and said that they strongly condemned the act of abducting Baloch students and scholars, which had “created an environment of fear and terror” among the masses. “We demand the immediate release of our scholar (Gazzain).”
While reacting on the Baloch scholar’s ‘disappearance’, the former senator Afrasiab Khattak said that enforced disappearance of any citizen by the state security agencies was illegal and unacceptable. “But targeting Baloch students on such a large scale in every nook and corner of the province/country alienates the entire new generation. Stop this insanity.”
